What a beautiful city Melbourne was … not the dirty crime ridden hole it has become and apparently very few including our current State Government seem to care . RIP Melbourne

Wonderful footage thank you for posthing it was a wonderful time. I remember it. But I also remember that life was more violent back in those days. However we didn't have all the drugs that are in society now.

I was at this game. After the match a pair of young female Blues fans danced passed us songing "We're gonna win the cup, we're gonna cup. We're on our way to the MCG and we're gonna win the cup!" Well, two weeks later Hawthorn kicked the shite out of them on the GF. I suppose those young ladies had a sad day that day. Then again, theu beat us the next year and vanished into insignificance until 1995 while Hathorn won another three flags after the 1986. 1988, 1989, and 1991....wed have won in 1990 if not for injuries to key players. Quick trivia question: Who kicked five goals in the 1990 GF? A: Essendon. Useless mugs. Had Hawthorn played Collingwood in 1990 with a full, fit squad we'd have won four in a row. Oh well. Five flags from eight appearances from 1983-1991 was an amazing effort by the Hawks.
